“It’s always difficult to find an apartment in NY. Even more so, is to find a good agent! After going through several brokers and looking at a dozen apartments Carmela came to the rescue. I had very specific demands….2-bedroom, outdoors space, well kept, central Astoria, near train…and all on a reasonable budget. She nailed it on her first try! I knew I didn’t have to look anywhere else. She also went above and beyond to get it locked in- coming by evenings to pick up paper work, opening the office for me to rush in to sign the lease…etc. I’ve been in NY over 7 years and moved 3 times, this time was by far the best. ”

“Thank Goodness I found Carmela! I was very opposed to using a broker and paying a fee but as it turns out- this can SAVE you money! Most of the time when there isn’t a fee, the building/owner is paying the fee but charge you about $100 extra a month- so if your rent is $1200- you start paying MORE money if you stay longer than a year- also, a great deal like I found it’s possible without a broker. Carmela saved me. I explained my situation, what I wanted and what I could afford. I had originally called about one apartment, but when we were in her car (yes, she drives you to each place in a lovely car) and I went over things with her, she told me she thought she had a better fit for me- she took me to a LESS expensive apt (which means she was getting LESS $ herself bc they do one month fee and not % like others) which was a more afforable and exactly what I wanted. The apartment is PERFECT. She introduced to the owner (SO nice) and made sure I was all set with everything for moving in. She ran around with me and even accommodated my demanding schedule which made me have to rush all the paperwork during my lunch hour. Her staff was very helpful-even the girls who work in reception did extra to help me to get back to work on time. I would recommend Carmela to my own family and friends. I would never try doing it on my own again. If your apartment hunting, then you understand how painful it can be. I was really at the end of my rope and was on the verge of tears apartment hunting. When I met Carmela I immediately felt better and knew it would all be okay. Which it is. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! ”

“I was recommended to see Carmela by a colleague. She showed me the best places available in Astoria. Very professional, no pressure sales, she was very good in having good places to show. The only thing I would say is that Carmela, like all real estate agents, represents the landlord. If the landlord promised to get x, y ,z renovated, I would put it in writing/email and send it to Carmela as your record. My apt almost fell through b/c of this, but it got resolved by holding the landlord to their words. As far as w/ Carmela, I had a great pleasant experience. I highly recommend her. Mindy ”

“So many of our friends recommended us to Carmela and her team, that we felt as if it was the only way to go. Our friends were right. They were wonderful. We really got the feeling that they were not going to rest until we were madly in love with our apartment. If we wrinkled our nose even slightly at a place, they wasted no time in trying to talk us into liking it. Her team members would simply look at us with concern, and say “You don’t like it?” and before we were even finished shaking our heads no, they were thanking the landlord politely for showing us the apartment, and whisking us away to the next location. We were super picky, and they never made us feel like we were being difficult. We also had a baby with us for all of these outings, and they were so sweet to him, and worked hard to find us a place that felt safe for our 13 month old son. We always felt as if they were on our side. Once we fell madly in love with a place, (finally!), they made sure we got it. Now we could not be happier. “Working with Carmela was a great experience. She helped my girlfriend and me find and secure a wonderful new apartment quickly and easily. After seeing a listing she put up on Craigslist on Sunday, she returned our call Monday morning and showed my girlfriend the apartment Monday night. Because I’m often out of town for work, she made herself available to me on her cell phone since I could not meet in person or see the place. “Working with Carmela was easy and painless…they way finding an apartment should be! I saw the listing on a Sunday night and the following day was shown the apartment. Completing the paperwork to secure my gorgeous apartment was easy and what was great for me is that Carmela’s office worked with my schedule. I was able to come in and drop off the finished paperwork and deposit when it was convenient for me. Everyone who I encountered in the office was great and never once did I feel pressured to look at an apartment that was out of my price range or didn’t fit my criteria. The fact I was able to secure an apartment in less than 3 days was amazing!! Overall it was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend using Carmela if you are looking for an apartment in Astoria! ”
