Great post, I only have one issue.
Recommending a contractor is only a conflict of interest if the inspector gets paid for the referral. I frequently recommend several contractors, sometimes I will provide 3 different names so they can see who is available.

I also tell my clients, “I do not care if you tell them I sent you or not as I get nothing from the referral.”

It is no different than an agent providing the names of three different home inspectors.

I also suggest the client (or agent) ask for a list of common issues found on the home inspection. This helps them understand that some issues show up on most homes in that area and helps prepare them for the results.

Most experienced inspectors will be able to list common issues instantly, most new inspectors will be at a loss for words.

Well, so much for increases in franchises, right? What happened? I guess companies have to “project” a great story no matter what, even if chapter 11 is in the near future. I am sure they knew it was going down before this. I think it is too bad and wish all these guys luck trying to make things work in whatever direction they go. I know how tough it is to restructure and build again.
