THE AMONETTE’S

Independently we were both successful in our Sales and Management Positions while working in Hawaii where we met. We decided to marry and moved to San Diego. Utilizing our pooled talents and a combined interest in architecture we began our Real Estate business in San Diego. It wasn’t a fluke or a random decision to become REALTORS.

Real Estate is in our blood as they say. Both Irene’s mother and aunt were REALTORS their careers spanning the 1970’s, 1980”s & 1990’s. Richard’s aunt was a REALTOR as well as part owner of an office in Northern California. Richard’s family built two custom homes during his six childhood moves and Irene’s parents bought and sold a number of investment condos and single family homes over a period of 50 years. YES, I would say IT’S IN OUR BLOOD!

Rarely does someone choose Real Estate as a career, Real Estate chooses you. Certain personal qualities and strengths mixed with optimism, calculated risk taking, organizational skills & more are a partial list of traits that have helped us realize our goal of Making “SOLD” Happen for clients. We found that our previous careers and diplomatic skills enable us to manage the varied and challenging requirements to successfully represent clients toward a closed SOLD escrow.

Richard is a Vietnam Veteran having served 1969-1970. For 17 years he was Vice President of Services and the on board Management for a Photography Company with concessions aboard 35+ passenger cruise ships, several hotels and a tourism board. A responsibility included setting up shop operations worldwide & site scouting. He created diverse memorable experiences for passenger /clients including posing atop camels in Giza, Egypt with the real Pyramids, awesome Acropolis backdrop in Athens, Greece, photo opts within the ancient colorful bazaars w/ cobras in Casablanca, Morocco or scuba diving in Caribbean Waters while experiencing at times underwater earthquakes! Richard became a licensed full-time REALTOR in 1988 and was the Assistant Manager for a local real estate office in the 1990’s.

Irene’s sales background led to Managing stores on land & aboard passenger cruise ships. Once in San Diego, Irene opened an Accessory Consignment business. Irene became one of the original hosts of America’s Shopping Channel (ASC) hosting their weekend evenings. While building their full-time real estate business, Irene obtained her California Auctioneer License. Irene joined Richard as a licensed full-time REALTOR in 1988 and together, as REALTORS, Made ”SOLD” Happen through and despite multiple presidents, real estate markets & interest rates!

Both Richard & Irene are members of the National (NAR) & California Association of REALTORS (CAR) – we subscribe to a higher Code of Ethics ( not all real estate agents can call themselves REALTORS).

REALTORS since 1988, The AMONETTE’S have received numerous awards showcasing our accomplishments for clients while at Coldwell Banker (7 yrs ), Prudential (2 yrs ), Currently at Realty Executives Dillon (21+ yrs) * With a tenacious perseverance we’ve met our clients goals during the varied real estate market cycles.
Both Richard and Irene’s Real Estate Licenses are current and in good standing with the DRE.
The AMONETTE’S actively participate in Continuing Education and Training by our Broker and Board.

We enjoy nurturing friendships with local friends, colleagues and past clients.
Otto, our standard red long haired Dachshund is being prepped to become a Therapy Dog and perhaps a Truffle hunter. We have encouraged his natural instincts by entering him in Earth Dog Trials. He just became an AKC Field Trials Champion.
We schedule as many San Diego County hikes with the Canyoneers as possible. We’ve become familiar with the hidden nature trails, flora, fauna & gems within San Diego’s urban and rural communities.
We are members of the San Diego Zoo and attend special activities supporting the zoo.
We love all museums! Different memberships to enjoy the varied special exhibitions, films and curated collections in support of education and independent art.
For 15 + years, Irene & 3 others have annually supported the Civic Broadway Theater productions.
When we can getaway, we embrace the RV lifestyle “glamping” with hook-ups or “boondocking” (without water, sewer or electrical sources) – RVing is a marvel - mobile housing architecture!
