When Realtor® Lynda Brookshire shares her tagline “Live your best life at the Alabama Gulf Coast,” she is thinking beyond real estate and relocating to sandy shores. Along with helping clients find their dream home, she is dedicated to letting the community know that health is wealth. Her friends and family tease that “she is gonna get you a house or get you a kidney…or both.”

Brookshire and her husband, Loyd, moved to Gulf Shores in October 2017.  After a series of health challenges that landed Loyd in the hospital multiple times within a span of two years, Brookshire realized it was her mission to increase awareness for Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), organ donation, and the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle. She believes sharing their experience can help others give, receive, or maximize the gift of life.

Realty Executives Home Towne of Port Huron, Michigan, is pleased to announce that Lisa Glombowski has been honored as the Eastern Thumb Association of Realtors® 2021 Realtor of the Year.  This award recognizes the behaviors and attributes that make a real estate professional shine: service to the community and the association, ethical behavior, commitment to bettering the profession, and participation in civic and charitable opportunities. Nominees for the award were submitted by peers in the association. The final selection was made by an anonymous vote by the Board of Directors.

Looking back, Glombowski says she carried an unexplainable attraction to real estate for years before deciding to make a career switch. Despite having multiple people try to dissuade her, she obtained her license in 2013. “I was working at an orthodontist office, my kids were off to college, and I felt that I finally had the time to commit to starting my own business,” she said. “What was the worst that could happen? No matter what, I was going to gain knowledge.”

According to the National Association of REALTORS® 2021 Member Profile, agents in the business for two years or less averaged three transactions in 2020- or roughly $400,000 in sales volume.  For most of those agents, their real estate work generated less than $10,000 in income.

realtors earn 2021 digital marketing executive certification

Realty Executives International is proud to announce that 636 of the franchisor’s Realtors® participated in the 2021 Digital Marketing Executive (DMX) certification program.  These Realtors® represent over 90 independently owned and operated Realty Executives brokerages throughout North America.

The four-week training course, offered annually to all agents, brokers, owners, and administrators, is in its fifth iteration with the brand. Participants in the course complete two hour-long sessions per week and supplemental coursework, totaling 12 hours of education.  The DMX content is customized each year to provide the timeliest and in-demand subject matter for real estate professionals. Due to this dynamic structure, those who previously earned the certification are encouraged to recertify each year.
