Sherri Cummings

Originally from Illinois, I moved to Arizona in 1980.  It only took a single visit to Arizona to decide the long, cold Midwest winters were best left as memories.  I knew I was ready for a warmer climate and was sure this was the location for me.  I immediately obtained my real estate license in 1980.  “I thought it was a way to help people with a very important decision in life.  It also provided me an opportunity to meet new people in my new home state.  At the end of the day, providing invaluable service is what it’s all about – forming lasting relationships along the way is a fantastic added bonus.”

I am passionate about helping people.  After I lost my twin sister to cancer, I became dedicated to assisting various organizations in their quest to fight this dreaded disease.  My activities have included participation in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, The American Cancer Society’s Annual South Mountain Climb and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Tempe Town Lake Walk.  Currently I am a monthly contributor to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.  I am also a strong believer in animal rights.  I am a monthly contributor to the ASPCA as well.   My belief is that animals are helpless with no voices and we need to step in and assist whenever we can.  It saddens me when I see animal cruelty and we can all play a small part in preventing it.  I have a soft spot in my heart (since I don’t have any children) for animals.  At one point, I had adopted two cats and two dogs which were strays in our neighborhood.  They all lived long, happy, spoiled lives in my home.  I wouldn’t change those moments and memories for anything.  My church is also a very important aspect of my life and I attend church weekly.  Staying focused on the really important aspects of life, makes everything else fall into the proper place.
