If 70 degrees, sunshine, and beach living appeal to you, then San Diego is the place to be. This SoCal city allows you to experience big city living, but at a more reasonable cost compared to other large US cities. The casual atmosphere and friendly inhabitants make San Diego appealing to people from all over the United States. Although you'll want to find the perfect home, you'll spend a lot of time away from it- taking advantage of the weather and beaches!
One of the advantages of coastal living is a stable, relatively cool temperature. San Diego generally floats in the 60's and 70's throughout the year. This is quite a change from the blistering cold in Midwest winters, or the scorching heat for Southwest summers. Mornings are typically overcast until the ocean breeze blows the cloud cover inland.

Mission Beach is one of the most popular San Diego beaches. Spanning just over a mile in length, the beach is at the center of the Golden Strand. Mission Beach attracts large crowds in the summer due to its location. Belmont park is nearby, as well as numerous bars, restaurants, and vacation rentals. Californians enjoy spending time in the sand, or utilizing the bike path that runs along the stretch of the beach.

Ocean Beach is about a mile long, but has several rock jetties segmenting it. A popular spot is Dog Beach- the northernmost part of Ocean Beach. This beach lets your furry friends run around without a leash 24 hours per day. Of course, dog owners are responsible for controlling and cleaning up after their pets. The southern end of Ocean Beach has the Ocean Beach Municipal Pier. Hit the restaurant on the pier, or check out the bait shop if you are interested in fishing off the pier.

Pacific Beach's boundaries include Crystal Pier to the north, and Mission Beach to the south. Pacific Beach tends to be one of the busier SoCal beaches because of the large amount of vacation rentals, bars, and restaurants in the area.

La Jolla Shores is a family friendly, sandy beach. About one mile long, the waves in this cove are pretty gentle. The beach lies next to the San Diego La Jolla Underwater Park Ecological Reserve. It is a great place to learn to scuba dive, kayak, or paddle board. If you visit during July or August, you can check out the leopard sharks that migrate to the cove each year.
