San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter is the entertainment center of the city. Located near Padres stadium, the Gaslamp Quarter consists of several blocks of bars, restaurants, and nightlife. Conveniently located within walking distance of major hotels, the Gaslamp District can keep any visitor entertained for days!

The San Diego Zoo is one of the most popular family attractions in Southern California. The zoo is part of Balboa Park (mentioned above). Kids and adults enjoy checking out the animals- from polar bears and penguins to all varieties of desert dwelling creatures. Keep your eyes peeled for special events in the park- like kids camps, dining events, and sleepovers in the park.

Hotel del Coronado, located on Coronado Island, is one of the most beautiful, historic hotels in California. The hotel sits on a massive piece of property and boasts of gorgeous architecture, powdery, white sand beachfront, and ongoing activities throughout the year. Make smores on the beach during the summer, ice skate on their rink during the winter, check out the lights during the holidays, or spend some time shopping in the on-site boutiques. The Hotel del Coronado also has one of the best patios for a happy hour cocktail.

SeaWorld, located near Mission Bay, is a great way to spend a day with the family. Check out numerous animal exhibits, as well as a multitude of shows. SeaWorld has also added some rides and activities to appeal to guests interested in a theme-park experience. Guests can finish up their day at the park by watching the nightly fireworks show. It is recommended that you bring a change of clothes- be prepared to get wet!

Southern California is transforming into a hotbed for craft beer brewers. There are several breweries in the vicinity that are open for tours and tastings. Many tour companies offer packages that include stops at 3-4 breweries throughout the day. Or, if you would like, stay planted- most of these breweries have food and games available for guests!
