Realty Executives Premiere
On May 8 the team at Realty Executives Premiere in Wheaton, Illinois joined together for Habitat for Humanity's “Women Build Week 2019.”
The event was held May 4-11 and was celebrated in the way of hammers held high and sleeves rolled up, with various teams working throughout the week. Eleven members of the Realty Executives Premiere team joined the effort that ultimately raised $100,000.00. DuPage’s Habitat for Humanity chapter took part in Women Build Week to help women across the community overcome barriers and experience the long-term benefits of affordable homeownership.
“It was a great day for our build in Hanover Park, Illinois,” said Jean Marie Milligan, team captain and real estate professional with Realty Executives. “Our hands-on work was part of a revitalization program to build twenty-seven 2-3 unit townhomes. This will be an ongoing project,” Milligan said.
Realty Executives Premiere participated in Women Build Week by creating a team and raising nearly $3,000.00 to contribute to the cause. This year’s team included:

“This is the third year Realty Executives Premiere has volunteered as a team. It is so rewarding. Being in real estate, I see first hand the joy of homeownership and the thrill and sense of pride on the face of a buyer when you hand them the keys to their very own home. Giving back to our community is so important and it is so touching to hear the recipient's stories. Many are single moms who have been abused and living in shelters. They are so grateful for the opportunity to provide a stable home for their children. These families need to qualify for a home, attend classes on financial management, carry a small mortgage, but more importantly, they need to contribute 250 hours of sweat equity for each adult living in the home. So many of the soon-to-be homeowners will join us on a build site. Habitat for Humanity is a ‘hand up’ not a hand out,” Milligan said.
Each team member participating in the build day must personally raise a minimum of $250. Every year Realty Executives Premiere has participated, they have surpassed their fundraising goals.
“The support of our office is incredible. The Executives who are unable to join us for the build will donate to our team. In addition, Pat Callan, our managing broker, always supports and donates to our team,” said Milligan.
