Gainey ranch was once a historic 640-acre Arabian horse ranch owned by Daniel C Gainey. Just before I arrived in the Valley, In 1980, Markland Properties purchased 560 acres and began designing the lush grassy development so popular for its walking, jogging and bicycling trails, golf, shopping and dining.

The residents behind the guard gates surrounding the Gainey Hyatt enjoy membership at the private Gainey Estate Club, once the residence of the Gainey family. The Estate Club is known for its 7 lighted tennis courts used for tournament play and private lessons (separate Tennis fee). There is also a heated 25 meter pool, poolside cabanas and a recent fully remodeled 2021 state of the art Fitness Center.
