There is no doubt that digital marketing and an “algorithm” just put TRUMP in the white house, this is not the first time digital media got a president elected, Obama was elected in 2008 once again beating out Hillary because his team understood the Algorithm of that time.
Since 2008 the web & social media has grown exponentially and also a new group of viewers and participants in digital media have grown up and are adaptive to today's digital networks, we also have better data collection feeds and better analytics, heatmaps and so on basically we have better technology in 2016 than we had in 2008.
Look at the social media tools we have today to spread a message and build brand, Facebook, Instagram, SnapChat, Twitter, GOOGLE+, Tumblr and there are more social media channels emerging every day and all these tools are ways to measure popular opinion and sway perception, see I’m not in the Real Estate business these days I am in the “Perception Management” business and "Predictive Marketing" when I’m selling Real Estate in NJ.
You have all heard the phrase one time or another “Target Marketing” well it’s even more accurate these days let’s take the Real Estate business for instance here are the things you need to know and any agent with a little knowledge and know how can do this, you need to build personas of your ideal clients, and then you will know how to market to them. And to build that persona you need to ask the following questions:
The more you know the better!
Are you getting the idea here? and here is what you can do with all that info not just only knowing which clients you want to work with but also it will help you spend less money, for example what if you could mail 10 postcards out and get 1 client rather than mailing 1000 postcards out just to get that same 1 client? Makes sense right?
Ok Matt so what does that have to do with TRUMP being president? I’ll tell you, Trump had a digital strategist on his team seek out the people they need to target and market too in order to reach 270 Electoral College votes, that’s it! And it went under the wire out of the normal process of campaigning and they shifted where they needed to be via, Social, Direct Mail and TV ad buys etc. and they spent way less money building a successful campaign and spent a lot less time doing it, I used to hear people say “Real Estate is a numbers game” NO! Now it’s the “Correct Numbers Game” I am a big believer of the 80/20 rule and I adopt it to my business and yes my friends there is definitely an Algorithm to selling Real Estate today in this market place.
