AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway hospital officially opened to patients today, Aug. 2.
As the second hospital in Flagler County, AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway is nestled between U.S. 1 and Belle Terre Parkway at 1 AdventHealth Way. The hospital is eight miles north of AdventHealth Palm Coast – which recently celebrated two decades of caring for the Flagler County community – and provides residents across the region convenient access to medical care.
Spanning 158,000-square-feet, AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway has 100-beds, effectively doubling the inpatient capacity in Flagler County and nearly doubling the area’s emergency department services. The hospital also includes state-of-the-art surgical suites, cardiac catheterization labs for heart-related conditions, endoscopy suites for digestive health issues and more.
Complementing the hospital is a 30,000-square-foot medical office building that opened on June 12. The medical office building on the campus of AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway houses a range of specialized services, including orthopedics, cardiology, gastrointestinal, surgical, urology, and gynecology care.
“As a long-time Flagler County resident myself, I am personally thrilled to see this new hospital open,” said Wally De Aquino, president/CEO for AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway and an area resident since 2005. “Construction began in September 2021, but the planning and preparation were years in the making. Flagler County – and Palm Coast in particular – has experienced significant growth in recent years, and to help keep our community healthy, it is important that our health care infrastructure continues to expand and grow too.”
Driven by a combination of factors, including job opportunities and the area's natural beauty, Flagler County is the third-fastest growing county in the state, according to recent U.S. Census Bureau data. Palm Coast, with a population exceeding 98,000, has emerged as the largest city in Flagler, Volusia, St. Johns, and Putnam counties, surpassing cities like Melbourne, Fort Myers, and Sunrise, and steadily closing in on Boca Raton.
AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway is a $167 million investment in the community's health care infrastructure. At this new location, AdventHealth will employ between 300 to 500 team members, in addition to the 1,100 at the current hospital location in Palm Coast on State Road 100.
