OUR HOUSE. YOUR HOUSE.
THE PLAYHOUSE!
Flagler Playhouse has been enriching, educating, and entertaining the community through live theatre since 1978. Their mission is to develop and showcase exceptional local talent. With a myriad of theatre activities including a full season of musicals and plays, a summer musical camp, children’s performances, senior and readers theatre, acting and technical workshops; the Playhouse is an integral part of the cultural landscape of Flagler County. They welcome all volunteers, regardless of experience, and maintain a professional, supportive environment, where creativity flourishes.
Current Production: Evita
Evita tells of the life of charismatic political leader Eva Peron, who became the second wife of 1950s Argentine President, Juan Peron. With powerful music by Andrew Lloyd Weber and lyrics by Tim Rice, this wonderful musical follows Evita’s early life, her rise to power, and her death at age 33. The show features that most magnificent showstopper, Don’t Cry For Me, Argentina.
While the rest of the shows are sold out, we'd like to congratulate the cast on a brillliant show! If this production says anything about the rest of the season - we're in for a real treat!
Living and "Play"ing in Flagler
Perhaps the most impressive thing about this show is that all of the actors call Flagler County "home". The Flagler Playhouse is true small, hometown theater - with big city talent! It is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and exists solely on grants and the support of the community sponsors - both individual and corporate.
The arts are alive in Flagler! In addition to the Playhouse, we have the Palm Coast Arts Foundation. - another non-profit dedicated to further expanding the arts in Palm Coast/Flagler. They have one goal: to design and build a Center for the Arts that will establish the Palm Coast/Flagler area as a world class forum for the performing, visual, literary and graphic Arts. In addition to the performing arts, Flagler boasts many art studios including BessStudio Gallery and the Salvo Art Project.
