The Best Eco-Friendly Bedroom Products For Your Home

(Published on - 8/1/2019 6:04:28 PM)

We’re always trying to find ways to make our home more environmentally friendly. Adding eco-friendly products to your home is one easy and efficient way to do your part to help our environment little by little. We recently came across some of the best eco-friendly products for the bedroom.

Eco mattress

Believe it or not, one of the simplest eco-friendly changes you can make in your home is purchasing a mattress that is good for the environment. If it’s time to replace your mattress, consider purchasing one that is eco-conscious and made from a material like renewable natural latex or plant-based memory foam. Mattresses like these are much more sustainable (and they can even be more comfortable than your traditional bed!).

 Organic cotton or hemp sheets

Replacing your bedding with sheets and blankets made from organic materials is another easy switch. Not only are these materials more sustainable, but they can also contribute to the air you breathe, as greener materials grown organically without chemical dyes will lead to less toxic particles in the air in your bedroom.

Recycled, pre-owned, or natural furniture

Just as it’s important to recycle our plastic, paper, and aluminum, so too is it important to use recyclable materials in our home. Purchasing furniture made from recycled or natural materials, or purchasing pre-owned furniture instead of new, is a fantastic way to contribute less waste to our earth. Plus some of the coolest furniture pieces are those that have been passed down or the ones we acquire from garage sales, thrift stores, and antique shops. Who wouldn’t want a home full of furniture with neat stories behind it?

VOC- free air purifying paint

Did you know that you can paint your home in an environmentally friendly way? Paints like these come with a protective finish and don’t emit any toxic odors. This type of paint is also free of VOCs and neutralizes chemicals and pollutants in order to improve the indoor air quality of your home. It’s highly important to check the ingredients in the paint you use before painting your home.

Smart lighting

Installing smart lighting in your home is an easy and efficient way to make sure you and your family are conserving energy. LED lighting is highly energy-efficient, and you can switch out the lights in your home by purchasing LED lights at any hardware store. But if you want to take your energy conservation a step further, try purchasing a lighting system like this one, which is highly efficient and sustainable.

Are You Still on Target to Meet Your Goal?

(Published on - 7/30/2019 3:30:11 PM)

Now that mid-year has arrived, it’s time to take a look at where you are and where you expected to be at this time of the year. How close—or far—are you from the intentions you set back in January?

Chances are, you might be feeling the “droops.” Market changes, consumer demands and relentless technology shifts all make suiting up every day a challenge, and they may be wearing you down—or worse—burning you out.

If you’re doing business the same as you have for months, or even years, you’re pretty much headed for the bench. Doing what we’ve always done won’t cut it anymore. The one thing we can count on in this industry is swift change, and if you aren’t poised, locked and loaded with new strategies, systems and processes, you may be down for the count by the time the holidays roll around.

Don’t let these myths wear you down:

Work harder. Working hard is a first step, but working smarter is what you need to kick up your production to high gear. Get out your business plan and monitor where you are with various aspects of your business development. For example, do you have a system to measure how many leads are generated from your yard signs, postcard campaign, social media buys and lead-generating platforms? Don’t waste another nickel without figuring out how many of those leads you’re turning into closed deals. All too often we throw money at lead generation and turnkey marketing, but fail to measure the cost of converting those leads into sales. Delegate the administrative work and concentrate on lead generation and conversion for your best bottom line.

New Agents: Finding Your Optimal Schedule & Role

(Published on - 7/25/2019 4:27:08 PM)

You’ve probably heard it before: Working part-time as an agent in real estate can be difficult.

However, there are alternatives at the start of your career that can be fulfilling, both fiscally and experience-wise. If you’re new to the industry, you’re essentially a blank slate. You know the basics from schooling, but the real-world experience is just not there. While comprehensive training and a diligent attitude can help you achieve business success even at the start of your career if you decide to go full-time, there are a few options you can take if you’re worried about jumping in head-first.

Get your license but work as staff. One of the best ways to get a deeper understanding of how things work in a real estate office is to manage one. Many teams today, and sometimes even individual agents, are looking for a receptionist, administrative assistant, manager, social media marketer, and so on. Working in one of these roles at the start of your real estate career can help you get acclimated while you observe how experienced agents maintain their success. The best part? These types of jobs are typically salaried, so you don’t have to worry about facing the uncertainty of being an independent contractor just yet.

Top Architecture Designs For New Homes

(Published on - 7/23/2019 6:52:22 PM)

We’re well into 2019, but the architecture world is evolving now more than ever. From eco-friendly living to accessibility and even minimalism, the architects of today are changing the game. Here’s a closer look at the top architecture design trends right now.

Local and sustainable materials

The need for sustainability is increasing more and more, even to the point of influencing home design. Now more than ever, architects are sourcing recycled, sustainable, and even local materials when designing new homes and spaces. But just because architects are using more environmentally-friendly materials doesn’t mean they are sacrificing quality craftsmanship and beauty. Even homes made from locally sourced and sustainable materials can be aesthetically pleasing to the eye. And, arguably, a locally and a sustainable designed home is even more appealing than anything else.

Realty Executives Integrity Broker Associate Combines Passion & Care

(Published on - 7/18/2019 8:10:54 PM)

Realty Executives Integrity is proud of Broker Associate, John Arneson, who continuously has given back to the community through a personal cause at the 2nd annual Roses for Recovery fundraising event, hosted by the SALS Recovery House and The Wisconsin Club. Raising over $23,000, Roses for Recovery is an annual event where guests dress to impress and gather on the day of the iconic Kentucky Derby. The event includes local food, drinks, raffles, auctions, friendly competitions and more. This year’s event was another success with over 100 attending.

Created by those in recovery, for those in recovery, SALS offers help to people who have recently been through drug and alcohol addiction and are looking for a supportive home. Seeing a gap in the system, Arneson, with the support and help of many, opened the first SALS Recovery House opened in 2004, offering the first sustainable long-term housing option in the area. Providing a safe environment and supportive peers to help guide others through the recovery process, SALS has since opened seven more sober houses and a treatment center.

Arneson, a fourth generation REALTOR®, has been with Realty Executives Integrity for 13 years after selling his previous family brokerage. Looking for more independence and freedom, the Arnesons came to Realty Executives to be able to focus on their agent’s individual success after years of having to run every part of a brokerage on their own. A recovering addict himself, Arneson is passionate about helping others through the recovery process as he celebrates 15 years sobriety.

“My career in real estate has allowed me to put my passion for helping others and my career together,” Arneson said. “With the support of my co-workers and my community, I’m able to serve a higher purpose and bring something back into the community that has given me so much.”

With ongoing support, Arneson and his partner’s next phase for SALS is broadening its reach beyond addiction to help first responders and veterans with PTSD. Next, the non-profit hopes to find a way to provide support for abused and battered women.

“There is no limit to the impact SALS could have on this community,” Arneson explained. “As long as I have the support of my real estate family and neighbors, I will continue to provide a safe place to those in need.”
